Ashwin Shroff - Chairman

Mr. Ashwin Shroff, Chairman of both Excel Industries and Excel Crop Care Ltd. is an inspiration and guide to all the Excel members. Ashwin Shroff has an exemplary talent in steering organizations towards growth and leadership. He is also the Chairman of Transpek Industry Limited, Transpek-Silox Industry Limited and has turned the wheel of success in many domains. A graduate in chemistry he began his career with Excel Industries in 1966. He is a perfectionist who settles for nothing less. His interest in environment and waste management projects in metros has been beneficial to the civil authorities immensely. He is a chairperson of the Environment Committee at FICCI.

Dipesh Shroff - Managing Director

Mr. Dipesh Shroff, a Civil Engineer chanced upon an opportunity to define Excel Industries’ international business before the demerger of Excel Crop Care Limited. He is known to be an expert who spear headed all turnkey projects in the Excel Group. After the demerger of Excel Industries and formation of Excel Crop Care Limited, Mr. Shroff has charted a manifold growth for the company.

Ninad Gupte – Joint Managing Director (effective August 01, 2012)

Mr. Gupte’s rich experience of 33 years, in formalizing corporation’s strategy as well as operational excellence has proved to be of admirable significance to Excel. He has held eminent positions in organizations such as BASF, Herdillia and Cheminova. Having represented the Crop Life India in capacity as Director, Mr. Gupte was instrumental in promoting and projecting the correct image of the chemical industry.

Prakash Shroff - Executive Director

Mr. Prakash Shroff earlier had been associated with Excel Industries Limited (EIL) as the head of Agri Business. After Excel Crop Care demerger EIL’s agricultural product portfolio was acquired by Excel Crop Care and with that arrangement Mr. Shroff too moved to Excel Crop Care to mentor the exports and manufacturing teams. He has been offering valuable contribution in product and process development, research and development, new projects and technologies and marketing.

Jagdish Naik – Director & Corporate Advisor

Mr. Naik is a Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years of experience in areas of financial accounting, taxation and corporate laws with specialization in business restructuring, joint ventures, M&A, divestments and strategic alliances. He continues to be Corporate Adviser for Excel Industries. Since demerger Mr. Naik is focused on matters related to Excel Crop Care’s business and corporate affairs.

David Pullan - Director

Mr. Pullan has 30 years of management experience in chemical manufacturing industry. He has contributed his knowledge and expertise through transnational projects, for companies such as Shell, Diamond Shamrock and now Nufarm. He is a proficient strategic planner for his company and a smart manager when it accounts for people, physical and financial assets.

Independent Directors

Dr. Mukul Asher

Dr. Asher, a Professor of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, was educated in India and USA. His research focuses on public financial management, social security issues in Asia and geo-economic issues. His works have been published extensively in national and international journals, and he has authored or edited more than ten books. He is an Associate Editor of IIMB – Management Review. He also serves either on the Editorial Board or on Advisory Board of several other journals including international Social Security Review. He has been a consultant to several Governments in Asia on tax policy and pension reforms, and to multilateral institutions including Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, International Social Security Organisation, and the World Health Organisation.

B. V. Bhargava

Mr. Bhargava has brought an illuminating experience of Banking and Project Financing. In his career of over 40 years, he has been associated with corporate brands such as ICICI, Raymond etc., and is amongst the Board of Directors for CRISIL. He has also been on the advisory board of an independent regulatory body, set up by the Government of India to work on reforms influencing the telecommunications sector. With his keen perspective on the Indian Economic Development, he has furthered Excel’s advancements.

Sandeep Junnarkar

Mr. Sandeep Junnarkar is a qualified Solicitor and has practiced Law for over 3 decades. Excel has benefited tremendously with Mr. Junnarkar’s immense contribution through his expertise in banking laws, corporate laws including competition laws, foreign exchange management laws, securities laws and regulations etc.

Deepak Bhimani

Mr. Bhimani has a degree in Textile Chemistry from the Lowell Technology Institute, Massachusetts USA. A successful entrepreneur with an interest in the field of flame-retardants in textiles, he has presented many papers in the same field along with corrosion inhibitors. Mr. Bhimani is an avid astronomer and photographer who virtually chases, solar eclipses across the world to capture exotic images.

V B Buch

Mr. Buch is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, batch 1964. During his service, he held important positions in several state departments such as Industry & Mines, Food & Civil Supplies, Petroleum & Gas, Finance, Agriculture & Rural Development etc. During his tenure as the Vice Chairman at the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam, Gujarat, he has made notable contribution in streaming the plans for the Narmada River Dam Project and its hydropower component.

Sharad Patel

Mr. Patel acquired his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has been associated with Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers, Gujarat Agricultural University, American Society of Agricultural Engineers, Michigan and many other prestigious organizations in capacity of an advisor. Presently, he holds office as the Managing Director at American Spring & Pressing Works.
